Diminishing Returns: The Cost of North American Gas Supply in an Unconventional Era--Phase II Report

DIMINISHING RETURNS: PHASE II FINAL REPORT NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE

The Diminishing Returns: The Cost of North American Gas Supply in an Unconventional Era—Phase II report provides an outlook for productive capacity through 2015 and gas production costs for 2010 and 2015. The results illustrate the growing role of unconventional resources in North America over the next decade. Also, the performance of the existing and emerging unconventional plays have a strong role in defining the long-run supply curve for indigenous North American natural gas supply. After a short discussion of key findings from the Diminishing Returns study, this report features selected national and regional results from the Phase II data sets. The Final Report includes

  • the Diminishing Returns Phase II study results
  • selected regional highlights for major producing regions
  • the methodology and key assumptions used to develop late 2006 to 2015 productive capacity, and the 2010 and 2015 cost profiles
