Russia's Oil Companies Feeling the Heat on Domestic Prices for Petroleum Products: Are They Too High?
Over the past two years, Russia’s Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS) has become increasingly aggressive about domestic petroleum product prices. Alleging violations of monopoly power, mainly in the wholesale market, it has recently demanded that four of Russia’s largest oil companies pay fines, totaling 20.7 billion rubles (about $670 million). --1/5/2010
