In the wake of last year’s presidential elections, mounting regional divisions and tensions have transformed the energy sector business environment, calling for a new evaluation of the risks and opportunities in Latin America and consequently of company strategies throughout the value chain. But rather than discouraging investment, the sizable supply-demand imbalance and rising energy security concerns are creating significant opportunities, but under new business and competitive conditions. Is it too early or too late to leverage those opportunities?
CERA will assess the key challenges and opportunities in the Southern Cone and their implications for players active in the region. In particular, we will analyze the supply and pricing environment of natural gas projects, the insights behind the Brazilian exploration and production (E&P) bidding rounds, and investment trends in the power sector in light of market changes and critical supply-demand mismatches. CERA will conclude with a discussion of the impacts of these factors on the energy sector itself.
